Hello

My name is Elien (pronounced ai-leen), and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I’m an HCPC-registered music psychotherapist based in Cambridge, UK, offering in-person and online therapy. Through focused music listening, I help clients explore emotions, gain insight, and reconnect with themselves in a safe, reflective space.

My Story

From a young age, I found purpose in music. First as a violinist and later as a music therapist, I discovered how music can create connections and bring compassion. In 2008, I graduated with a master’s degree in music therapy from LUCA School of Arts in Leuven, Belgium. Over the years, I’ve witnessed and experienced how music can open us to explore our emotions, navigate conflicts, and find meaning in our lives.

I enjoy improvisation, composition, and experimenting with electronic music in my personal time, and I bring that same sense of exploration and creativity into my sessions. My approach is music-centered, offering clients a space to engage with their inner world through sound. I believe that music is a powerful tool for personal growth, providing opportunities to uncover answers, work through challenges, and reconnect with what matters most.

In my work, I prioritise creating a safe, client-centered environment where relational trust is key. I take a flexible, adaptable approach, meeting clients where they are and guiding them through whatever they need in the moment. I support adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, sadness, transitions, feeling stuck, or sensing that something isn't quite right. I value the neurodiversity of our community and embrace the richness of different identities. I aim to create a respectful, inclusive space where each person feels truly heard and supported.
